The writers of "Men in Black" said it best in their line for Tommy Lee Jones, "A person is smart. People are stupid."

While some of these hoax sites appeal to a morbid cense of humor, most are un-appealing in that they target the gullible. To think that some poor sap out there might actually order “Dehydrated Water,” or that others might get offended at something so blatantly a hoax as the “Baby Smasher,” (or even worse, think it is serious) is rather scary.

Should these sites be banned, definitely not! The laws of common cense always apply. “Buyer beware,” springs to mind. Like any other activity we partake in, there is an inherent “danger” to the Internet that should cause us all to swim the digital waves carefully, so that we can enjoy the experience without drowning.

Not really sure what to say . . . sites like these can make for some interesting conversations. It's just really difficult to believe that there are people out there who really fall for this kind of stuff. The power of the iternet in the wrong hands is a very dangerous thing especially to those poor people who fall prey to such blatant scams. I cannot help but have no sympathy for them though -- one should not be so blind.

I do not think these sites in and of themselves disturbing. What I do find alarming, is the fact that someone collected that many "hoax sites" and the fact that somehow me looking at such sites is beneficial to my degree. Let alone paying 30,000 dollars to learn about hoax sites and comment on them...

I THINK THAT THESE SITES ARE GREAT! It gives you an idea on just how easy it is to become famous and recongnized in america! it also gives you an idea on how some web sites are created. Some people are really easy to pursue though! Easy make easy money!!!!

I find hoax website very amusing. Some poor sap has nothing better to do besides sit at his/her house and think these things up. Nobody ever really believes them its just fun to joke about.

Hoax websites really keep it real. The world now a days is far to serious and these websites cut into it and give people a way to laugh at the site and themselves for being gullible and believing that they're real. Sometimes there some places that you would think are hoaxes but they are real deal items. These sites are great.

Seems to me that people just waste alot of time. In these cases ignorance is not bliss some people may not know that these are hoax sites and take his information to heart. Everyone just needs to pay attention to what they are doing when on the net and not give out information that is personal.

I believe hoax websites are a waste of time, I was reading the website about the dog island and i do believe they are a waste of man power and knowledge. Who would think of a website that has to do with a island of dogs I would rather make a Hoax website describing how paint dries in a heated environment. Why do people make these websites and what is the purpose.

Depending on which website you visit the people that created them represent themselves according to their personality. These sites can also trick you into giving your personal information, so beaware of who you give this infomation to.

The hoax sites is not appealing to me at all. The sites is for people who just dont have a life at all and have nothing else to do with their time. Who in the world would give a person a $10,000 for them to meet their future wife; that is insaine to me. There some people who would give it a try.

I thought the sights were very silly and didn't make much sense to tell you the truth. I guess like Chad said, it just makes for interesting conversation, that people actually came up with these sites. They probably really wanted to see how many people really would go to a site that says "Baby Smasher". At first I thought they meant that the baby changing station was not safe for babies to be in, and that it may snap back because there was not enough weight on it, and that your baby may get hurt in there. Like how you might call getting a mammogram a boob smasher! Silly me! :)
