Knowing your audience is the most important factor for any website's design. If the target audience can not understand the site, you will lose them as customers. This design should never leave them guesing as to what is a link and what isn't. All navigational links should be clearly defined or made more clear through the use of tools such as "alt" tag information. Content is also a very important factor, otherwise why build the site to begin with? Without content that is compelling, why would a visitor return.

All of them are rather useful. When creating your website you always want to target your audience first. You want your vistors to come back to the site regularly. You always want your site to be user friendly too, don't make it to cluttered or hard to navigate around.

All of these tips are good ones to live by when you are trying to establish a website! In fact I would use them as my check list if I ever would be serious in creating a professional site. I would think that 2,3, and 8 would help the most because it teaches you how to create a site that will draw your users in, instead of reaching out to them! Links I think would be the biggest factor. It's all about networking! just like everything else we talked about when it comes to technology.

After reading the article "New and Improved Ten Tips from the Top" I would have to say that the tips I think are most useful are numbers 1,2 and 3. I say this because you have to identify what your target audience will be looking for when you select a keyword and you would have to make your site interesting to your core audience so that they will continue to visit your page on a regular basis. Also when selecting a keyword you want something not to specific so that alot of people will come across your site by chance.

I thought that the three tips listed below were the most useful:

2 - Optimize your site for your target audience, not for the search engines. > I agree with this tip half heartedly as I believe it's important to optimize for search engines as well. If you don't you will get less hits/traffic (almost certainly).

3 - Research your keyword phrases extensively. > Without doing proper research how do you know what keywords and phrases people are using when they do a search? Obviously you could come up with a few good ones yourself but by putting some time into it you get better search results, which equals more potential opportunities.

5 - Program your site to be "crawler-friendly. > Crawlers search your web pages for keywords and content so optimizing your site for crawlers again increases the traffic that's driven to your site.

I think the best way to market a website so people will visit it is to target everyone by having interesting
grahics and once you have their attention keep them interested on things that you think that they want to hear and see.

The 3 importants tips to me is to not invest into a new domain name, unless you staring from scratch and you really need one. The next one is to always research yu keyword phrases closely. Make sure your words are relative to the site. And last is to make sure to label your internal text link and clickable image. The people have to know where there are going on your page, so the naigation has to be on point.

10. Don't be married to any one keyword phrase or worried too much
about rankings. If you've done the above 9 things correctly, you will
start to see an increase in targeted search engine visitors to your
site fairly quickly.

4. Design and categorize your site architecture and navigation based
on your keyword research.

2. Optimize your site for your target audience, not for the search
engines.

God this man is a complete and udder genius, I can't believe how he's not teaching classes here. We are not worthy of his genius!

I believe the best way to market a website is through music and art because that seems to touch people the most.
